Gelsenkirchen-Scholven

The site in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven forms an integrated refinery together with the site in Gelsenkirchen-Horst. The single parts of the refinery are connected to each other via pipeline system. Besides mineral oil processing taking place at both sites, BP Gelsenkirchen GmbH in Scholven operates two crackers for the production of approx. one million tons of ethylene and more than 600,000 tons of propylene. From these raw materials, Sabic Polyolefine GmbH at the Scholven site, for example, produces the corresponding polyolefins.
