Chemical Parks and Industrial Sites

Chemical Parks and Industrial Sites

ChemSite offers investors from the chemical and processing industry a diversified range of high-tech chemical and industrial sites and a comprehensive infrastructure and range of services at six high-tech sites in the Ruhr region. So every enterprise is given the opportunity to seamlessly integrate in the structure of the sites following the principle “plug and play“ and concentrate on its core areas of competence.

The strong point of ChemSite is comprehensive and professional support of the investors. “One face to the customer“ is the mission of the ChemSite office, informing, supporting and consulting enterprises individually and free of charge from the initial contact to site selection to production start, and beyond.

ChemSite offers an available space of 175 hectares on a total area of 1,200 hectares for the establishment of new enterprises from the chemical and plastics industry. The chemical parks in Marl (Marl Chemical Park), Gelsenkirchen (BP RP/Ruhroel), Castrop-Rauxel (Rütgers Germany), and Dortmund (Deutsche Gasrußwerke) dispose of a fully developed infrastructure, a unique materials flow system, and a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of the enterprise wishing to relocate. All existing supply and disposal systems, logistics, maintenance, security and environmental protection services can be used by all enterprises at the sites. Thus new production facilities can be built and operated quickly and cost-effectively, and investors can fully concentrate on their core areas of competence. Moreover, the enterprises relocating to the site benefit from a neighborhood with a positive attitude to the chemical industry, speedy approval procedures and highly qualified and motivated workforce. At the industrial sites marketed by ChemSite, more than 4,000 basic and special chemical products are produced by global players like BP, Evonik, ISP, Lanxess Buna, Rohm and Haas, Rütgers Germany, Sabic, and Sasol.

The fully developed industrial sites are particularly suited for the production of petrochemicals, basic and speciality chemicals but also for the processing and recycling industries. Almost all sites have direct access to the European highway, railroad, waterway, and pipeline networks.

Moreover, enterprises doing business in the processing and recycling industry as well as research & development centers or distribution centers find attractive conditions for establishing business in the fully developed Dorsten/Marl industrial park and in the Marl technology and chemical center (Techno-Marl), not least thanks to the proximity to the large production sites in Marl and Gelsenkirchen, to the research & development centers, and to the largest sales market in Europe, the Rhine-Ruhr metropolis.
Due to the central position in Europe and direct access to the European highway, railroad, waterway, and pipeline networks, ChemSite sites distinguish by extremely good access to the European market with more than 450 million inhabitants.

This advantage is underlined by the proximity of the sites to Europe’s largest inland port in Duisburg and the international freight and passenger airports in Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf.
