ChemSite

ChemSite

ChemSite is the chemical and plastics cluster in the Ruhr region and the central point of contract for all issues and topics to do with chemistry and its value chains. The initiative focuses all activities relating to chemicals and plastics under the ChemSite umbrella brand, for the ongoing consolidation of the Ruhr as a chemicals region. The key areas of work are:

  • The marketing of the Ruhr as a chemicals region, with its growing chemical and industrial sites,

The formation of innovative networks between companies, as well as between enterprise and science,

  • Promoting small- and medium-sized companies and the starting up of companies,

  • The improvement of general conditions for the chemical industry and related industry sectors,

  • Long-term assurance of sufficient employee potential through activities to promote scientific and technical education and qualifications.

Since the ChemSite initiative was set up in 1997, ChemSite has developed into a private / public partnership to serve as a model. The cooperation between partners from the chemical industry, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the municipalities of the region, the regional administration in Münster, and other partners from politics, the economy and the public sector has, to a large extent, been characterized by mutual trust and understanding. This trust and understanding between the parties is the fundamental basis for the successful work of the ChemSite Initiative.
