Innovative Chemical Industry Clusters

North Rhine-Westphalia, particularly the Ruhr region, is one of the most important agglomerations of the polymer and surfaces treatment industries in Germany. In the Ruhr region, more than 1,450 enterprises have established businesses that are to be allocated to the value-added chains.

To strengthen these important business sectors, the two networks “polymer network“ and “surface treatment network NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia)network“ have been initiated under the umbrella of the ChemSite Initiative. The objective is to intensify the networking of enterprises and research and technology institutions along the value chain in order to enhance the competitiveness of both the enterprises and the region, and to strengthen their power of innovation.

The networks are intended to be a centralized contact and coordination platform for the entire value chain. They offer qualified support for the enterprises regarding all business-related issues.
