Innovative chemical Cluster

North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Ruhr area in particular, is one of the most important cluster regions for the polymer and surface technology industries in Germany. More than 1,450 companies within the chemicals industry value chain are based in the Ruhr area.

To strengthen these important industry sectors, both networks – the polymer network and the coatings network – have been brought together under the umbrella of the ChemSite initiative. The objective is to intensify company networking as well as cooperation with research and technology facilities along the value chain. This should serve to improve the competitiveness of companies along with the region and its innovativeness.

The networks are therefore central points of contact and coordination for the entire value chain. They offer qualified support for companies in all business-related matters.
