Surface Treatment Network

Surface Treatment Network

The surface treatment network NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) offers qualified support for enterprises regarding all business-related issues.

Surface treatment technology is a significant industrial sector in the Ruhr region and in North Rhine-Westphalia characterized by its industrial processes. This means high complexity of technical and personal interactions and high service orientation along the entire value chain.

In order to strengthen this industrial sector and to extend regional competences, three partners have decided on launching the surface treatment network NRW in 2009. These are DFO (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft Oberflächenbehandlung e.V.), TFM (Technologieförderung Münster GmbH), and WiN Emscher Lippe GmbH under the umbrella of the ChemSite initiative.

The objective is to network the entire value chain of surface technology and thus enhance the competitiveness of both the enterprises and the region. The network sees itself as the centralized contact and coordination platform for the entire value-added chain – from producers of raw materials, lacquer and adhesives formulators to the wide range of the application sector to plant construction, service providers as well as universities and scientific institutes.

For this purpose, the network combines its activities in the following four fields of activity: innovation and technology – market and management – vocational training and qualification – economy and legislation.
