07.10.2009: Evonik commissions plant for production of the plasticizer alcohol 2-ph
Evonik Industries AG, Essen, has expanded its product range for high-molecular-weight plasticizer alcohols and commissioned a plant for the production of the plasticizer alcohol 2-propyl heptanol (2-PH) at the Marl Chemical Park.

Air Products today announced it has reached an agreement to acquire S.I.Q. – Beteiligungs GmbH, a manufacturer of epoxy additives based in Marl, Germany. The transaction, terms of which are not being disclosed, is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.

Oxeno is expanding its oxo alcohol production capacity at the Marl site by 60,000 metric tons per year with a new 2-propylheptanol (2-PH) plant. 2-PH is a starting material for the manufacture of plasticizers for PVC and is used mainly in cables and films.
