Workforce Potential

Workforce Potential

North Rhine-Westphalia is the center of the chemical industry in Germany. Not only research but also vocational and advanced training are on a European top level. The objective is always to adapt training to the enterprise’s needs and to train in step with actual practice. With about 100,000 workers and employees (2009), the chemical industry is one of the most important employers. The level of professional education of the employees is traditionally at top level worldwide. The enterprises at ChemSite locations put special emphasis on continuous vocational and advanced training – for both safety-related and economical reasons.

The workforce potential in the Ruhr region makes Europe’s third largest urban agglomeration an attractive address for investors and enterprises. About one third of the students have chosen the Ruhr region as their place of study. Per semester approx. 140,000 people register in the faculties of the metropolis, one out of three concentrating in the fields of mathematics and natural science.

However, the skilled employees and the executives of tomorrow are not only trained in the metropolis in one of the most densely meshed university landscapes in Europe but, for example, also in the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, vocational colleges and particularly in the enterprises. The ChemSite location Marl Chemical Park offers training in all disciplines far beyond its own needs. These young, motivated and best qualified people are available for other enterprises as employees-to-be.

We need all talents to cope with the enormous challenges of an industrial society!
